This is a hypocritical story of mine. I’ve complained and whined about how historical fiction is hard to get into for me because it’s not written during the time period it’s set in. Little turns of phrase from modern day can slip between the cracks without the writer knowing it, and that can make the story ring false. In fact, the only historical fiction writer I like is Carolyn Meyer because her stories sounded authentic to me growing up.
And yet, here I am. I guess I couldn’t help myself.after all this time clmannarino preview
